Pontiac is one of the initial American car manufacturers that grew along with the country. In was established over a hundred years ago in the end of 19th (1893) by Edward M. Murphy, however in the beginning it has almost nothing in common with car manufacturing business. The first car came out in 1907; it changes it name and two years later General Motors Company acquires it. The year of 1935 could be called a golden year in the history of Pontiac motor company. It was the year Pontiac Silver Streak came out of production line. Nobody expected that this vehicle would become such popular, so it was decided to expand the production. In 2007 Pontiac faced some real problems connected with low demand from customers of American car market share, the production volume was lowered by almost 14 percent comparing to the results of the previous year. In April, 2009 General Motor Company announced that it was stopping the production of Pontiac cars.
Before the closure Pontiac was ready to offer seven different vehicle models to its customers including such as G8, G6, G5, G3, Solstice, Vibe and Torrent. Most of Pontiac cars look powerful and I’d even say aggressive. Unfortunately it couldn’t overcome the economic crisis so nowadays General Motor group is ready satisfy your needs with many other vehicles of different brands including Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. I’m pretty sure you will be able to find a vehicle you’d like among the product ranges of the mentioned companies.
